He was the youngest of 7 brothers and sisters, raised in an underprivileged household, where education was not stressed. Carmine was the only child in the family to graduate high school and then go on to college. After high school, he enrolled in the US Army Reserves, specializing in counterintelligence. In 10 years, he expanded his business to a staff of 25 employees. Carmine currently resides in Fishkill and is happily married to his wife Lisa. FISHKILL - Last month, local community advocate and leader Brian C. Wrye was selected by his friends and neighbors to run for Town Board in Fishkill following a vacancy on the board.
“I have been a member of the Fishkill community for over twenty two years,” said Wrye. “During that time, I have grown to love this community and have built friendships and business relationships with scores of people who feel the same way as I do about our beautiful town.”
“This fondness is why it was an easy decision for both my wife Kit and I in deciding to run for the vacated seat on the Fishkill Town Board when the opportunity presented itself. We are a bi-partisan community that pulls together and intuitively looks to improve the lives of the residents and families who call Fishkill their home. It is with that spirit that I will enjoy serving our community in this new capacity.”
Some of his volunteer involvement includes serving on both the Town of Fishkill Environmental Board and the recent Community Policing Advisory Committee. He also serves on the Board of ACE Mentor and the committee of Think Dutchess Alliance For Business, with previous activity including the Dutchess County Advisory Board of The Salvation Army.
Wrye is Director of Business Development for an MBE commercial furniture company selling to school systems, corporations, government entities, hospitality and medical systems. His success in this business requires networking with diverse individuals and organizations throughout the Hudson Valley and beyond.
“We must work to keep our taxes down and our vital services such as our police supported, because first and foremost we need to make sure every citizen feels safe and respected. We also must balance the need to keep (more) large developments from adding to the traffic congestion without sending the message that businesses shouldn’t bring jobs here for the next generation of Fishkill residents. That balance is missing right now.”
Wrye’s son, Max, went through the Wappingers Central School District and is soon to be married. His wife, Kit, is on the board of County Players where she also performs. Wrye has a Bachelor’s degree in business, is a writer working on a children’s book series and is a member of SAG-AFTRA.
“It is imperative that those who serve the Town of Fishkill understand and love the town and this comes from my years of both living in and serving the community. I am honored to say that my support is bi-partisan. My commitment to the residents of Fishkill is very deep and I look forward to serving on the Town Board if given that opportunity.” Wrye concluded.
